North Country Safety Day 2022

North Country Safety Day 2022

We’re back with in-person Safety Day in Potsdam!

May 18, 2022
8:30am to 3:30pm

Join CITEC for a day of discussions, presentations and networking for North Country safety professionals.

Confirmed topics include:

Turning It Around
Safety programs that don’t change and grow can easily become box-checking exercises that don’t reflect the importance of the job they are entrusted with. Tim Newton at Neenah Papers will offer a short presentation about turning around a stale safety program, and the innovative tools he uses to fight inertia. Small group discussions follow to bring out additional tools and adaptations that may be used at different facilities.
Tim Newton, Safety Coordinator at Neenah Papers
Sharon Van Auken, CITEC Business Advisor

The Benefits and Risks of Workplace Stretching Programs
Workplace stretching programs have been touted as reducing cumulative trauma injuries and improving overall safety for many years. But what can these programs actually be expected to provide, and what are the best ways to implement these programs? Are there unforeseen costs to implementing a stretching program, and how can we best measure the success of these programs? Kate will provide some local examples and dig into the data.
