Monaghan Builds Lean
The big win is in employee engagement.

as the best way to further the company mission to provide the respiratory community with the finest, most researched and innovative aerosol drug delivery devices to help people breathe easier.
CITEC has been working with Andy and Monaghan for the past year to develop the Lean mindset for all employees, and to shepherd projects that improve efficiency. The biggest gains for a workplace that makes this kind of investment is in employee engagement. We like the way Andy puts it in this video.
CITEC started out training Monaghan's entire Plattsburgh facility with a Lean 101, which is a half-day basic training on the typical wastes that stymie workflow. Afterwards, Andy asked the team who might be interested in gaining more knowledge. So many people wanted to participate that we had to do it in too separate cohorts.
Participants learned Lean tools and strategies and put them to use for a real operational challenge they were facing. Through the learn-and-do approach Monaghan was able to improve several key areas of their facility as well as empower their employees to make positive changes to their work environment.
This kind of approach leads to a lot of successes because you have strong teams all pulling in the same direction. We look forward to continuing this process with Andy.
